1639493978 THE END OF GREAT NARRATIVES: POSTMODERN DISCLAIMERS

Aim of the research; The aim of this study is to investigate the ruptures experienced in modern and postmodern processes. It is also to explore the reasons that push artists from painting to objects. Concept, idea and object relations that stand out in the works of artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Andy Warhol and Joseph Beuys constitute the scope and limitations of the research. Answers were sought about what kind of developments the ideas put forward by these artists through objects led to in contemporary art. Within the scope of the research, the works of the artists were analyzed and the common point between them was determined comparatively. The problems of the research are as follows: What does the postmodern break mean? How did modern and postmodern discourses develop in art? Who are the artists who triggered the postmodern break? What do Marcel Duchamp's ready made objects mean? What are the effects of the ideas of Duchamp, Warhol and Beuys on contemporary art? In the light of all these questions, answers will be sought on how modern, postmodern and contemporary phenomena developed. At the same time, explanations were made about why the ready made object is important in the relationship of art with society.
