1591131978 A THEMATIC APPROACH TO TURGUT UYAR’S POEM NAMED “TOPLANDILAR/THEY HAVE GATHERED”

İkinci Yeni/The Second New poetry understanding that emerged from the second half of the 20th century brought many discussions. Although poem groups, writers and critics have had different small ideas about it, it has been agreed that they have a poetic sense. These discussions have realized on micro areas mostly. However, along this poetry we can see some crucial debates on poem content and pattern. Poets of The Second New concept have defended themselves against the blame that they were utopistic artistic conformism by weaving their poem more firmly and telling that they have had made some changes in the pattern and content of poems. In the center line of these change debates, Turgut Uyar one of those ones who was spoken about. His poetry line which overlapped with The Second New by his book named The Nicest Arabia of the World goes on by his other works. One of these is his book named Toplandılar/They Gathered which was published in 1974. There are many themas of the book such as urbanism, nature, sensitiveness, loneliness, past, travelan the inadequaty in the society. Many themas have been tried to be analysed in the context of the present century and its problematic matters. This approach has created a need that we must glance his poems in a thematic vision. A thematic approach has been accepted for this work and we have aimed to reveal the sense and discourse layers of the book in the framework of stated lines.
