This article focuses on the works produced by Hatice Bengisu, who is one of the important names among the contemporary Turkish printmaking artists, using the woodcut technique, which is one of the oldest traditional printmaking techniques, and the woman image in her works. The way Bengisu deals with the tree and woman, her interpretation of them and artistic expression as a woman artist in her works will be analyzed through woodcuts by examining the way woman image is expressed using woodcut which has been addressed by many artists in In Turkey.
