ABSTRACT
In this paper, a study oriented toward determining cognitive levels and attitudes of the students of 6th classes (First Education) on Turkish Epics and national values has been discussed. The study is about the scanning model and has a descriptive quality. The levels of the students of primary education on Turkish Epics and their attitudes on national values has been determined. It has been searched thoroughly how far these persons know about Turkish culture ,which is in the core of epics, its social life, social structure, beliefs, customs and national and moral values. In other words, in order to put the social structure on a sound basis, the significance of attitudes in a national culture and whether these behaviours change according to the sexes or not has been determined. In the study, a reliability has been tested on 315 students and also a success test and attitude scales have been implemented on 54 students formed by experimental and controlling groups which is chosen randomly. At the end of the application, the data collected have been loaded on the computer and the existing situation has been evaluated.
