1495634494 HODJAS PERIOD IN EAST TURKESTAN, ACCORDING TO TEZKİRE-İ HACEGAN

This study is about the manuscript that found in Eastern Turkestan entitled as Tezkire-i Hâcegân which is written by Muhammed Sadık Kaşgari. It's written between 1768 and 1769 in Kaşgar. The work that penned by Chagatai Turkish is consists of 90 leaves. Tezkire-i Hacegan is one of the most important resource of East Turkestan history. 1680-1750 period is an important period of history that hodjas were active at that time. Kaşgari gives an information his own work about Hidayetullah who known as Afak Hodja obtained power with the support and patronage of the Cungars, Hodjas struggle in two seperate groups known as “Aktağlık-Karatağlık” and generally politic, economic and social structure of the East Turkestan. In addition to being an important tezkire (biography) of Uygur literature, Tezkire-i Hâcegân provide an important information about hodjas that descendant of the Mahdum-ı Azam Hodja Ahmed Kasani. In this regard Tezkire-i Hacegan is the most important source of the Turkistan hodjas.
